“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” — Ephesians 3:20

Many young Haitians spend years asking one question:

“What is my purpose?”

They wait for a sign. They wait for the perfect opportunity. They wait for someone to discover them. They wait for the government, a church, a scholarship, a visa, or a miracle. Unfortunately, while they wait, life continues to move forward.

But what if we have been asking the wrong question?

Purpose Is Not Somewhere Out There

Instead of asking, “When will I find my purpose?”, perhaps we should ask:

“How can I discover the purpose God has already placed inside me?”

Purpose is not hidden in another country.

Purpose is not waiting inside a university diploma.

Purpose is not reserved for the rich, the famous, or the powerful.

God did not create you empty and then expect you to spend your whole life searching for something He forgot to give you. He created you with gifts, passions, talents, experiences, and a calling already woven into your life.

Just as a seed contains a tree before it is planted, God placed your purpose within you before you were born.

Jeremiah reminds us:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Your purpose did not begin the day you graduated, found a job, or started a ministry. It began with God’s design.

Ephesians 3:20: God’s Power Is Already at Work

Paul writes:

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Notice the last words:

“…His power that is at work within us.”

Not around us.

Not someday.

Not after we become successful.

Within us.

God’s power is already working inside every believer.

Too many young people believe they lack what they need. They say:

“If only I had money…”

“If only I knew the right people…”

“If only I lived somewhere else…”

But Scripture says God’s power is already working within you. The question is not whether God has given you something. The question is whether you are developing what He has already placed inside you.

Haiti Does Not Need More Dreamers Waiting

Haiti has enough people waiting.

Waiting for politicians.

Waiting for organizations.

Waiting for opportunities.

Waiting for permission.

What Haiti desperately needs is a generation that begins to build with what God has already entrusted to them.

David did not wait until he owned a king’s sword. He defeated Goliath with the sling already in his hands (1 Samuel 17:38-50).

Moses thought he had nothing, yet God asked him:

“What is that in your hand?” (Exodus 4:2)

God often begins with what we already possess.

Discovering Purpose Requires Action

Purpose is rarely discovered while sitting still.

It is discovered while serving.

While learning.

While failing.

While helping others.

While solving problems.

Peter discovered his calling while fishing.

Nehemiah discovered his mission while serving as a cupbearer.

The disciples discovered their purpose by following Jesus one day at a time.

Purpose grows through obedience.

Ask Better Questions

Instead of asking:

• “What is my purpose?”

Ask:

• What problem breaks my heart?
• What gifts has God already given me?
• How can I serve others today?
• What skills should I develop?
• Where is God opening doors for me?
• Who can I encourage with what I already know?

These questions lead to discovery.

Your Greatest Investment Is Yourself

Many young Haitians dream of leaving Haiti. There is nothing wrong with pursuing opportunities abroad. But wherever you live, never neglect the greatest investment you can make—your own growth.

Read.

Study.

Learn technology.

Develop leadership.

Improve your English.

Strengthen your faith.

Build your character.

Every skill you develop becomes another tool God can use to fulfill His purpose in your life.

God Has More for You Than You Can Imagine

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

That means your future is not limited by your current circumstances.

It is not limited by your family’s income.

It is not limited by the neighborhood where you grew up.

It is not limited by Haiti’s challenges.

God’s plans are always greater than your fears.

But His plans require your faith, your obedience, and your willingness to act.

A Challenge to Haiti’s Youth

Stop waiting for purpose to arrive.

Start discovering the purpose God has already placed within you.

Pray for wisdom.

Study diligently.

Serve faithfully.

Work with excellence.

Develop your gifts.

Trust God’s timing.

The future of Haiti will not be built by young people waiting for opportunities.

It will be built by young men and women who recognize that God’s power is already at work within them and choose to use every gift He has entrusted to them for His glory and the transformation of their nation.

Because your purpose is not something you are waiting to receive.

It is something God has already planted within you, waiting to be discovered and lived.
